TESO CONFERENCE
Teso conference was scheduled to be held today in the Y.M.C.A. ground at Royapetta .But the Commissioner of Police , Chenani did not grant permission for conducting the conference in the Y.M.C.A .Ground citing some reasons that lakhs of visitors are expected and the ground cannot accommodate them and that possiblities are there for the extremists to intrude and also that the traffic may be affected. Some other reasons were also cited. yesterday (11.8.12.) one urgent motion was passed by the senior advocate Mr. Vilson before the Judge Mr. PalVasanthakumar for lifting the bar imposed by the Police. But the case was not taken up for trial and the case was transferred to the Chief Justice . The case came in the division Bench today, afternoon . Judgements was pronounced and the .bar imposed by the Commissioner of Police was lifted. It is a highlighting point that the Central Govt has , though earlier banned to use the word ‘Elam’ in the Conference, later lifted the ban and also granted Visas to the incoming foreigners intending to attend the Conference
The TESO Conference is about to start shorly. All the arrangements are ready to hold the conference as scheduled. The DMK Cadres are happy on hearing the Judgement of Chennai High Court lifting the bar of the Police and granting of permission to conduct the Conference. The party people also considers this Judgement as a great victory to their party.
