FALLEN HAIRS

Hair is the filaments of carotene –protein. The hairs form and come out of the Follicle. It is said that there are about 1 lakh hairs in the head.  It is there for quite natural that 100 or 150 hairs fall. Hairs also grow daily for ½ mm length on an average.

Hair- growth form into 3 stages:

First stage: ( Anagen): This growth exist from 2 to 7 years. Hair grows from each follicle in different thickness and in different speed.

Second stage: ( Catagen): the bottom portion of the hair stick on to the follicle-pipes.  As a continuous process, this bottom portion of the hair will isolate from the cells which create new hair.    This will prolong for 2 weeks. At this stage, the inactive hairs will fall.

Third stage: ( Telogen) : This prolongs for 2 to 4 months. After this stage, new hairs grow in the fallen follicles. Thus hair- growth comes in the rotation method.

Growth of cells, ripening of cells and falling of hairs are the common activities.  As the growth of new cells   is delayed due to aging, hairs do not grow in the old age. At one stage, hair-growth completely stops.

If we assume that these three stages grow over a period of 5 years and the hairs fall and grow again 10 times before the age of  50 years,
